Lucas James (Deceased)
Dark brown, shoulder length
Standing at a little over 5'6, Amy fits the idea of the average athletic female. She's not too tall or short, her hair is medium brown and hits just below her shoulders, and her eyes are a simple light honey brown. Amy often uses the fact that she's rather unremarkable to her benefit, slipping through the crowds with little problem.
Her fashion is a tad bit more distinguishable from the rest of the world's though. On top of the usual slightly baggy jeans and tank tops she usually wears is her father's old Bomber jacket. It's a rare sight to see her without the jacket when she's off of work. Around her neck is a small pendant, white gold, it's a disk that has a celtic knot for protection, a gift from her mother when she turned sixteen.
Self assured in herself and her place in the world. Amy likes to think of herself as a reed in the wind, always bending, never breaking, and one hell of a backlash if pushed too far. She's more concerned with others than she usually is with herself. Pride and care for herself often takes a backseat when it comes to her job and calling in life.
That doesn't mean that she lies back and just takes shit from people. If someone pushes her, she will stand up for herself in the end. She just usually does it with her words. Snarky, sassy, and more than just a little sarcastic, Amy has a tendency to talk first and think of how people take her comments afterwards.
ABILITIES & SKILLSHealer
Amy has the ability to heal most wounds and illnesses with a touch. Anything from cuts and bruises tot he flu. The more complex and difficult the wound or illness, the more it takes out of her. More than once, she's passed out from exhaustion after healing.
Born at the beginning of winter, Amy's life was always better than most people. Her family came from a nice Philadelphia neighboorhood where the biggest worry was what someone was going to bring to the annual block party and who's husband was cheating with who. Money was never a problem and social standing was important here. Most of the time, a child was just as much about bragging rights as it was about having them.
Amy's parents were no different. They expected the best from their daughter. She was supposed toa have the best grades, top in all her activities, and associate with all the right people. Her mother kept a tight leash around what she did. There was no time for video games or silly fantasy books that she really enjoyed. Instead there were always cheer leading classes, academic decathlons, and mock trials.
It was actually during cheer that Amy's gift awoke. One of her friends had fallen from a stunt and her leg had broken. Amy had been right there holding the girl's hand and trying to help her stop crying. All she wanted was for her friend to be well, and then she was and Amy was falling unconscious. No one put two and two together that day, and Amy had no intention of telling anyone ever, but it affected where she wanted to go with her life.
Being a doctor made sense and Amy's focus switched quickly to that in high school. Her parents weren't all that sure about it, but they helped her get into college and paid her way through med school. It was there that she met her husband Lucas. He was already post graduate when she was just starting in med school and more than handsome. He was everything she expected to have and her parents loved him. It didn't matter that her feelings were lukewarm for him.
Married life was alright, she guessed. Amy wasn't happy, but she also wasn't unhappy. Her focus was more on her work than on her husband, otherwise she might have noticed the gambling problem or the hookers. She definitely would've noticed the large amounts of money that he was spending though. But she'd always kept her bank account separate from his so she never saw.
Things started to change when her husband brought home a friend from work. Liam was everything that Lucas wasn't. He was charming, in control of his surroundings, flirty, and sinfully attractive. But Amy was a good girl. She never did anything with him, even as they would go out and enjoy some afternoons together. It might have been the wrong thing to do little dates with the man, but it made her feel happier than Lucas ever did.
She had been contemplating divorce when her husband had been found dead on one of his business trips. Amy felt sad, but not completely bereft as she should. And it wasn't with such a heavy heart that she honestly contemplated seeing Liam in a more serious fashion.
